Transnational Partner Meeting in Latvia
The first partners meeting took place in Riga, Latvia in March 2023. It was organized by Active Rainbow in their co-working spaces at LGBT House, currently the only community space for LGBTQIA+ people in Latvia.
The meeting brought together project coordinators and representatives to start activating the project in person, and plan holistically for the 3 years long-term journey.
Partners got to know each other better and dove deep into our main objectives, tools and pillars. We set general agreements and more concrete plannings to strengthen our connections and to reach together our aim of promoting activism through non-formal learning.
We focused and reflected on the impact of the project and how we want to encourage active participation of young LGBTQIA+/Queer people and allies in their communities.
In the second part of the meeting through collaborative group work, we clarified on the activities, timeline, the project work-packages and on the outputs that we want to create as tools to increase the quality of queer youth work and education, through the developed methodology – activism through non-formal learning (ANFL) – through a book, a webpage and a series of educational videos.
Transnational Partners Meeting in Slovenia
The second partners meeting took place in Ljubljana, Slovenia in February 2024 and was organized by Moja Mavrica. It brought together project coordinators and representatives from the organizations, including participants who were by then involved in the activities of the project.
This was a check-in moment to celebrate and measure the impact of the project activities in the first year and start working more concretely on the main outputs and on contextualizing the ANFL methodology.
There was group work involved, in which in smaller teams we worked and set the ground work for the webpage, the DIY videos and book. By the end of this meeting, we strengthened our cooperation, and partnership, addressing needs, challenges and setting the goals for the second year, created an action plan in relation to the outputs and the project activities in 2024, measured and evaluated the impact of the project so far on our target groups and had a first glimpse of the work and local reality of our Slovene partners.
Transnational Partners Meeting in Italy
The third meeting took place in Bologna, Italy in November 2024 and it was organized by Cassero LGBTQI+ Center and their Global Cassero team.
Project coordinators and participants involved in the project and activities were present, this time to close the project activities of 2024, celebrate and reflect back on the year, the created impact through the activities, the methodology, and the good practices shared.
During the first part of the meeting, we got to know and experience the rich queer history of Bologna, through a Queer Tour, and we reflected on the continuous impact of the project, addressing successes, challenges and needs,
reflecting on current realities in queer youth work, youth participation and overall the LGBTQIA+ realities in each country, and the challenges due to the on-going sociopolitical landscape and the rise of discrimination, fascism and other dangerous for the community and society events.
In the second half of the meeting the focus shifted to production and future planning. Working in country groups, participants developed the project’s main outputs, prepared content for the website, and shaped new strategies for the upcoming video-making phase. This structured time for evaluation, coordination, and creative planning ensured strong alignment across out organizations and set a clear path for the next stage of implementation.
Transnational Partners Meeting in Estonia
The last partners meeting took place in Tartu, Estonia in October 2025 and was organized by Rouge Youth work Centre. This was our last physical activity within the project, where the project team and representatives met to close this chapter of our journey.
We honored and celebrated the three-year long journey of growth, resilience and collective care, measuring the impact of the project holistically, evaluating, reflecting on challenges, and planning sustainability, and future collaborations between our organizations and the Activate Youth informal network we have created.
Within the meeting we reaffirmed our shared commitment to queer youth work across different socio-political realities, shared inspiration and upcoming plans for each organization, and we structured the final steps and phases of the project.
It has been an enriching and fulfilling meeting looking back to all the growth of each organization in multiple levels, and also for the project team, the personal and professional journey. We closed the meeting, knowing that this was not a goodbye, but a new beginning for continued cooperation, solidarity, youth participation and activation.
